Dry-type Transformer
Dry type transformer are made out of the iron core and windings, which are not immersed in insulating oil. Unlike oil-immersed transformers, which rely on liquid to dissipate heat and insulate windings, but instead, dry-type transformers utilize natural air cooling (AN) and forced air cooling (AF) via fans to manage heat dissipation generated during operation. During natural air cooling, the transformer can operate continuously for a long time at its rated capacity, the output capacity of the transformer can be increased by 50% when forced air cooling is applied, suitable for intermittent overload operation or emergency overload operation; , it should not be subjected to long-term continuous overload operation due to the significant increase in load loss and impedance voltage during overload.
